i have a question. what are the pros and cons of shooting in RAW in terms of image quality? does it leave you with more flexibility to do post processing of your images?
pros: larger latitude to correct exposure (but should never depend on this!), WB, saturation, sharpness and contrast; up to 12-bits of color data(vs. 8 bits for jpeg), ability to export to TIFF with minimal loss of color information (again vs. JPEG).
generally, more flexibility. but you still have to pick your exposures correctly. and shooting in RAW won't correct compositional errors.
cons: larger file sizes (less buffer space and less images per card), longer PP time, usually not supported by photo wallets for viewing (except on the Epson's)
Arvin, aside from CPL, gumamit ka ba ng ND grad dito? Ako, I'd never be able to manage this in-camera - at least not without careful planning. I'd go shoot RAW, tweak color temp tapos apply gradients and blending mode ng layers in PS...
hi carlo, this particular photo, i used a cooling filter but did shoot in RAW. tweaked in RSE. ur rite--more viewrs support RAW--the new jobo looks great.
